NFL cheating: so sad! It appeared as though Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson was headed for another outstanding performance after his team’s opening offensive drive of Thursday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

During the first half of the game, Jefferson caught all six of his targets and amassed 74 receiving yards.

The Vikings ended up leaving the field inside SoFi Stadium with their second loss in less than a week after the All-Pro receiver was slowed down in the second half (two catches for 41 yards).

After the game, Jefferson had the chance to express his opinions about who should bear the responsibility for Thursday’s outcome. He said that a number of people, including the officiating staff, should bear the most of the blame for Minnesota’s defeat.

Justin Jefferson, WR for the Minnesota Vikings, outlines who is primarily to blame for the team’s Week 8 loss against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Vikings’ top receiver took some time after the game to respond to some questions from reporters.

Jefferson once explained why he believes Minnesota is currently on a two-game losing streak.

Honestly, I feel like these last two losses have just been self-inflicted. All of the penalties that we’re having, the non-execution on certain plays that we need, it’s definitely something that hurts us in the long run.”

He is undoubtedly correct. There are those who contend that the Vikings outperformed the Rams in Thursday’s game.

Minnesota was whistled for a penalty on multiple occasions during the game after it appeared they had made a defensive stop, and Los Angeles was rewarded with a fresh round of downs.

On Thursday, the Rams really received five first downs via Vikings penalties, and Los Angeles was awarded two of them during an offensive drive that ended in a touchdown.

Furthermore, while Minnesota fell behind the Rams in the fourth quarter, Jefferson wasn’t even targeted, which is something that the Vikings will never be able to do going forward.

Throwing the ball to the NFL’s top receiver at the end of games when he’s most needed is a good place to start if the Vikings want to get things back on track when they return in Week 9.
