Michael Fasusi arrived on the field with a visible limp just prior to a main event that featured Denton Guyer and Lewisville. Despite battling an ankle ailment during his senior year, the top offensive tackle wasn’t going to miss one of the season’s most important games. Fasusi’s leadership and presence enabled the Farmers to defeat the Wildcats 27–17.

Fasusi remarked, “This win was a lot for us,” “This was the game where we needed it before entering the playoffs, even if we already have a position in the tournament… We prevailed; let’s move on.

“Man, I was just pushing myself in my head the whole game,” Fasusi said. “For the entire game, my ankle was genuinely hurting, but I kept saying ‘Technique’ in my head. I realized my ankle was holding me back a little as I attempted to get some pancakes. I simply made an effort to create as many plays as I could. It truly boils down to our actions both on and off the field as leaders. I’m genuinely trying to do a better job of inspiring those guys. Although I believe I do things well, you should never consider it “enough.”

Additionally, it’s common knowledge that hiring is never complete until the pen touches paper. A’second recruiting’ has arrived for Fasusi as intensive focus has resurfaced, with the early signing period just around the corner. Several colleges are treating him as an unpledged talent, despite his continued commitment to Oklahoma.

“Literally, I probably thought about that just yesterday,” Fasusi replied. “For example, I’m going through a whole different recruiting cycle. After I committed, there was a brief lull, but as soon as the season began, we resumed our activities.
