Is Mark Stoops’s insistence that there is no reason for panic sufficient?
Mark Stoops has called for composure as Kentucky football fans recover from a disappointing 2024 campaign. The Wildcats have struggled with offensive line instability ever since. The return of Wolford doesn’t inspire much confidence.
In 2023, Wolford’s team allowed 49 sacks, ranking 122nd nationally, while Kentucky allowed 22 sacks, ranking 43rd nationally. I believe that all of the fans were taken aback by Yesnser’s admission that he was somewhat taken aback by the dismissal, particularly given how quickly it had been announced.
Last year, they dipped into the portal at the tackle position, but today’s stoops claimed they needed assistance at tackle. Marques Cox, a transfer tackle who was supposed to secure the left tackle position, fell short of expectations, underscoring the need for more development and recruitment.
Stasis on both sides of the ball and problems with the quarterback Transfers and recruiting for quarterbacks have also been problematic. Brock Vandagriff, a former 5-star, was benched because of his poor performance. They weren’t sold on Brock even before the season started since Kentucky had already enticed Gavin Wimsatt out of the gateway.
Despite numerous coordinator changes, the offensive stays stagnant and each one employs conservative systems that are slow, dull, and unimpressive.
