Worst nightmare: Wolves engaging Ipswich Town in serious signature battle” after both team open ‘preliminary’ Iheanacho talks” aim ongoing contract confusion” here’s the recent status of the deal according to ESPN report

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Ipswich Town have initiated preliminary discussions to sign Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho from Sevilla, according to Football Insider.

Iheanacho, 28, joined Sevilla in the summer of 2024 after his contract with Leicester City expired. Since moving to Spain, he has struggled to secure regular playing time, leading to speculation about a potential return to England.

Both Wolves and Ipswich Town are seeking to bolster their attacking options in the January transfer window.

Wolves are aiming to enhance their goal-scoring capabilities to climb the Premier League table, while Ipswich Town, newly promoted to the top flight, are looking to strengthen their squad to avoid relegation.

Iheanacho’s experience in English football, with previous stints at Manchester City and Leicester City, makes him an attractive option for both clubs. During his time in the Premier League, he was known for his goal-scoring prowess and versatility in attack.

As talks are in the preliminary stages, it remains to be seen whether either club can secure Iheanacho’s services before the transfer window closes. Fans will be keen to see if the Nigerian international returns to the Premier League to reignite his career.
