It’s clear now: hard to believe! Snooker Rich List finally relegates snooker boss” Ronnie O’Sullivan to the bottom” as he Suffers £800k Blow”aim Top 10 Earners list Revelation!” So much pressure compounding already. Here’s the full snooker current earners list…
World No. 1 Judd Trump is at the top of the list of the sport’s highest earners for the current season.
Ronnie O’Sullivan’s earnings have dropped by £800,000 this season, making him no longer the highest-paid player in snooker.
Icon O’Sullivan has faced a tough season, withdrawing from the Masters just two days before it began. His earnings have significantly declined due to his struggles, dropping from over £1 million in 2023/24, when he was the sport’s top earner, to just £265,600 this season. The 49-year-old addressed his withdrawal in an interview with Eurosport, admitting, “I’ve lost the plot.”
World No. 1 Judd Trump has taken the top spot on the prize money leaderboard. According to figures from OLBG, Trump, nicknamed “Ace in the Pack,” has already earned an impressive £1.22 million this season, more than twice as much as the second-highest earner, Mark Williams, who has collected £513,800.
Trump has enjoyed an incredible year, winning 41 of 49 matches and securing two tournament titles. He has set his sights on World Championship glory in May, with his earnings giving him the flexibility to choose his events, including skipping the Scottish Open in December. In 2024, world champion Kyren Wilson claimed £500,000 for his Crucible victory. The gap between O’Sullivan and Trump could widen further if the world No. 1 wins the Masters this month, which offers a record prize of £350,000.
Wilson ranks third in this season’s prize money standings, having earned £497,400 so far, while Mark Allen sits in fourth place with £460,100. Ali Carter, previously the sixth highest earner in the 2023/24 season with £425,000, has experienced the largest drop, now placed 20th with total earnings of £138,000 for the season.
Although O’Sullivan’s earnings have declined this season, the 49-year-old remains the highest earner in snooker history. By May of last year, he had amassed over £14 million in prize money during his illustrious 30-year career, far surpassing the £9.8 million earned by John Higgins and the £8.8 million accumulated by Stephen Hendry. Meanwhile, Judd Trump had reached £7.5 million by the same time, and with his winnings growing significantly since then, the 35-year-old, in an era of rising prize money, could now pose the greatest challenge to O’Sullivan’s record.
