Ipswich Town has officially signed winger Jaden Philogene from Aston Villa for a fee in the region of £20 million. The 22-year-old has agreed to a four-and-a-half-year contract at Portman Road.
Philogene, an England Under-21 international, began his career at Aston Villa and had loan spells at Stoke City and Cardiff City. In September 2023, he moved to Hull City, where he scored 12 goals in 32 appearances.
Villa exercised a buy-back option in July 2024, but Philogene found limited playing time upon his return, making only four starts, including a notable appearance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Ipswich Town, currently 17th in the Premier League, is bolstering its squad to avoid relegation. Manager Kieran McKenna’s influence was pivotal in securing Philogene’s commitment to the club. Philogene expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m excited to be here and I know there are great players in the squad. I just want to play as much as possible.”
