This season, the Washington Commanders have been exceptional. They are off to their best start in as many games since 1991 with a 10-5 record after 15 games. They just so happened to win the Super Bowl that season. The Commanders are experiencing this accomplishment just one season after finishing with a 4–13 record, which adds to the amazing plot. It has paid off that they cleaned the house. It is impossible to overstate Jayden Daniels’s entrance under center, though.
As an NFL rookie quarterback, the former Heisman winner and LSU product has been absolutely outstanding. He has had some amazing moments while leading the Commanders through their remarkable turnaround.
Daniels guided Washington to a decisive 36-33 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in week 16. With the season coming to an end, their NFC East rivals are leading the division race, but the victory was even more crucial in terms of securing a postseason wild card berth.
Daniels scored the 22 points the Commanders needed in the fourth quarter to launch a comeback and win the game. He really completed 24 of his 39 throws for 258 passing yards and five touchdowns toward the end of the game.
Daniels was nominated for FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week following his outstanding performance in leading Washington to the comeback victory, according to a release.
The top running back, wide receiver, or quarterback of any particular week receives the prize. After voting concludes on Wednesday, the award will be given to the two players who received the most votes.
Along with Daniels, Jonathan Taylor, Justin Jefferson, De’Von Achane and Chuba Hubbard were nominated. Daniels has now been nominated for this award on three different occassions.
