We appear to have figured out Kentucky’s basketball recruiting class for 2025. Malachi Moreno and Jasper Johnson were already two of its best prospects.

Chris Cenac, Caleb Wilson, and Acaden Lewis are the well-known pursuits. Nate Amet or Mikel Brown Jr.

might even be included. However, Mark Pope noticed another candidate who has been generating a lot of noise when visiting and checking in with Jasper Johnson, who had already committed.

Prior to a growing number of coaches taking note of Samis Calderon’s play recently, he was largely unknown in the recruiting industry.

Pope was among them, and he promptly devised a plan to bring him to the university for a formal visit.

This is the most recent addition to the Kentucky basketball list. He isn’t even included on recruiting websites as a guy Pope has offered.

However, since he will be in Kansas the first weekend of November, he intends to visit now and possibly on the second weekend. Official dates, however, aren’t

Calderon has not yet revealed any finalists or reduced his list of candidates; his recruitment is still open.

But he has been to Auburn, Michigan, and Tennessee, and he has plans to visit Kansas and Kentucky.

These are a few of the top collegiate basketball recruiting teams. He must be better than advertised with such a list.

He may have gained popularity in part because he is a Brazilian native who played for Cold Hearts when he first appeared on the American high school scene in 2023. He can make the outside shot and is a 6’8 forward with incredible quickness.

He appears to be a perfect fit for Pope’s goals at Kentucky. He is now formally on Kentucky’s radar because of this, and if Pope can convince him to come to Lexington, he might be a late addition to the class.
