BREAKING: Philogene practically Set for Dramatic Exit as Villa Seal perfect Blockbuster replacement” aim Malen Signing!” Despite previous cryptic statement from villa head coach unai Emery. See full details…

Aston Villa has finalized the signing of Dutch forward Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of €23 million (£19 million), with an additional €3 million (£2.5 million) in potential add-ons.

Malen, 25, previously part of Arsenal’s youth system, scored 13 goals in the Bundesliga last season and was instrumental in Dortmund’s journey to the Champions League final. His versatility and attacking prowess are expected to enhance Villa’s offensive options.

This acquisition coincides with the impending departure of winger Jaden Philogene, who is set to join Ipswich Town for £20 million.

Philogene, 22, returned to Villa from Hull City in July 2024 but has struggled for regular first-team opportunities, making only two Premier League starts this season. His move to Ipswich aims to provide him with increased playing time and assist the club in bolstering their attacking capabilities.

Villa’s head coach, Unai Emery, addressed these roster changes, stating: “Of course, it’s a change. A clear change. One player leaving, one player joining us.” Malen’s arrival is anticipated to fill the void left by Philogene’s exit and to strengthen Villa’s squad as they compete for a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Aston Villa, currently eighth in the Premier League with 32 points, is preparing for their upcoming match against Everton on Wednesday, 15 January. It remains to be seen whether Malen will be included in the squad for this fixture.
